Applications are invited for the above-mentioned vacancy that exists reporting to the Micro Lab Manager.
Purpose of Position: Conduct sampling of raw material and components. Conduct testing of raw material, water (laboratory and facility), in-process (during manufacture & filling operations), and final product and stability samples in accordance with procedures. Conduct testing in accordance with Environmental, Personnel and Garment Monitoring programs. Participate in testing associated with Media Fill operations and Validation exercises.
Key Responsibilities: • Planning of work and setting of deadlines to be done daily to meet Laboratory requirements • Resources are checked and reported according to availability, ensures effective problem solving and deviations are communicated to supervisor. • Media and spore suspensions are prepared in accordance with SOPs. • Perform Pyrogen testing and interpretation of these results. • Responsible for the microbiological testing of final product (Production, Stability and Process validation), intermediate product and raw materials for quality assurance purposes. • Perform sampling and testing for Environmental, Purified water, Garment, and Personnel monitoring programmes in accordance with approved sampling and test methods and according to approved schedules. • Perform identification of Bacteria, Fungi and Moulds when found. • Equipment usage is done in accordance with operating instructions and SOP’s.. • Documents and reports are completed in an accurate and disciplined manner. • Adheres to Good Laboratory Practice requirements, by strictly following SOP’s • Participate in problem solving and investigations when required to support actions relating to Deviations, Out of Specification results, Out of Tending results, Corrective and Preventive Action initiatives.
- Matric / Grade 12
- Degree / National Diploma in Microbiology or Medical Technology
- At least 5 years working experience in a Pharmaceutical Microbiological Laboratory.
- Previous experience within a parenteral/ sterile manufacturing environment will be advantageous
- Computer literate
- Experience with international requirements of GLP / GMP
- Experience with Quality Management systems
- Testing of water, Preparation and control of media, Aseptic techniques and Pyrogen testing
